Would not fit musa, because musa is not a typical “samurai” class. More a typical old chinese knight class. He’s known as a chinese knight with an horse in the old wars. And this armor is a most famous and typical Japanese samurai armor and was carried in the wars only from the Japanese samurai warriors. Musa is a complete different world

Really? Then explain why does the Musa have an unarmored Samurai costume called “Vagabond”? http://bdo.mmo-fashion.com/musa-vagabond/

Also, the Musa is Korean, not Chinese.

I think Tetsu point is more of “given the weapon choices, this class isn’t definitively japanese, unlike the ninja, which is.”
Korean and Chinese martial tradition both includes the use to shallowly curved, thin, single edged two handed weapons, and japanese short bow usage is near to non-existent in discussion compared to the longbow.

Then why did they give the Musa the “vagabond” costume (which derived from Miyamoto Musashi) then? Shouldn’t it be for the ninja since he is japanese and the Musa isn’t?

Korean Kemdo is very similar to Japanese Kendo, and while the Musa is very clearly modeled after the Korean version (as evidenced by details in the blades, etc) they’re close enough to indulge in a little manga-themed cosplay. Ninjas are more different from samurai than Musas. It is worth noting, also, that in the world of BDO Japan and Korea do not exist. We just have archetypes. Musas and Maehwas appear to come from Margoria, but that’s about all we know about the Asian-themed classes.

Musa is not korean! Musa is an old chinese knight which fought from horses, and has nothing to do with the traditional japanese martial arts = Ninja and Samurai.

That Musa has this “Vagaond”/ typical Samurai Dojo outfit can only be a mistake, probably because the people behind all that who gave musa this samurai outfit was not that much informed. But I kinda do think they probably just thought, just because their standard musa class without awakening has a single samurai sword, so it could fit perfectly with that Dojo outfit, because samurai’s in a dojo with an outfit like that only use one samurai sword and not 3 or more (like the Ninja class in the awakening) and samurai’s with more than only 1 sword usually wear this typical, traditional and heavy Samurai Armor with an scary mask and these was used of course not in a dojo with only 1 sword more for serious fights in a huge war for real Samurai’s with more than 1 samruai swords and that’s what the “Ninja” is (with the awakening= A typical “war” Samurai not a Dojo Samurai)

And by the way.. the standard “Musa” class with only 1 sword and a bow does not and has never exist. Musa is just an chinese knight and had ONLY used and long spear/Bisento/Guan dao/halberd or what ever you want to call it. So.. any other Samurai outfit like the Aegis one as I already said would totally not fit to musa.. because it is normally not a “Sword” class

You missed everything you said. Musa is a Korean warrior, the sword he wears is a Jingun and the bow is similar to the one they used after the Mongol invasions, so if you notice most of the costumes you will identify Korean writing. A samurai not only wore a katana, he had a collection of weapons, carried a katana, a wakizashi, and a tantou around his waist, along with the halberd and bow carried by his servants. Korean martial arts are related to Chinese martial arts due to the geographical location and cultural exchange that took place before the unification of the three kingdoms of Korea.

So basically, Musa isnt technically a Samurai class. Its not based off Japan. Whereas, although “Ninja” is a Chinese word, it describes a sub class under Samurai in Japan

People realize most games aren’t gonna be 100% accurate to history…right?
If it looks cool and will get them money ofc they’ll add it…doesn’t need to have much to do with the lack of knowledge, BDO hasn’t been advertised to be historically accurate…
